Welcome to the Parent Council Webpage
With the introduction of Parent Forums and the Parent Councils, all parents have an opportunity to work more closely with their schools. We have outlined the role and function of these new bodies.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE PARENT COUNCIL AND THE PARENT FORUM?
All parents who have children at the school, including Nursery, are members of the Parent Forum.
The Parent Council is a smaller sub-comittee.

WHO IS ON THE PARENT COUNCIL?
A small group of parent volunteers from the Forum.
One community representative.
One representative from the teaching staff of the school.
Current contact details for the Parent Council members are included below.
WHAT IS THE ROLE OF THE PARENT COUNCIL?
To act as a link between parents and the school.
To aid communication from the school to parents.
To act as a channel for parents to express their views.
To assist with fundraising for school projects.
To encourage links between the school and the wider community.
HOW DOES THE PARENT COUNCIL OPERATE?
The council meets at least once a term.
It also has informed contact with parents, school staff and the wider community between meetings.
Parents and staff can discuss issues at anytime with Council Members.
The Parent Council will produce a newsletter following each council meeting.
Minutes of the meeting are available to parents on this site.
Copies of the minutes will also be available at the school and at Mainlands shop.
